Educators push to keep core standards

Bill would undo major Hoosier education guideline

Three years after adopting the use of a set of educational standards, the Indiana General Assembly is reviewing the need for the guidelines, much to the disappointment of local educatators.In 2010, the Indiana Department of Education voted unanimously in favor of approving the Common Core State Standards Initiative, which is used in some form by 45 states and sponsored by the National Governors Association.
